COME AS YOU ARE

Couch potatoes are completely welcomed! You do not have to be “in shape,” in fact our specialty is working with people who have never considered themselves athletes and helping them tap into their potential with our diverse programs, careful coaching, and the most welcoming community you’ve ever met. You won’t feel self-conscious with us; at Jefe everyone is a boss!

OUR CLASSES ARE UNMATCHED!

Classes are offered every day of the week from as early as 5:30am to as late as 8:00pm. Open Gym is offered every single day. Programs include stand-alone CrossFit, Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Strongman, Endurance, Student Athlete, and Kids programs. No matter your interest you can throw yourself into the sport you are most passionate about or dabble in all of them – it’s totally up to you! Also, just to sweeten the deal, we offer supervised childcare AND have a shower for our members.

OUR COACHES ARE HERE FOR YOU

Why join a gym that offers a one-size-fits-all approach? You have goals and you want to spend your time and money achieving them, not be forced into programming that doesn’t move you forward. Our high-touch approach sets us apart from other gyms. Goal Setting meetings facilitated by our coaches help you make a plan to make your dreams a reality. Our Programs & Services

  • CrossFit & Building Jefes

    The technical definition of CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. In other words, in CrossFit classes at El Jefe we are going to teach you to move well, functionally, and once you can do that we are going to ask you to do those functional movements under increasing levels of intensity.

     

    Every day the Workout of the Day or WOD will be different. Working with our coaches we can adapt and scale workouts and movements to suit your fitness and ability level. Have an old nagging injury that holds you back? Let our team know so we can modify and scale the workout to keep you safe while continually challenged. Think you’re too old or not strong enough?  Let us show you that even YOU can be successful with us!

  • El Jefe Weightlifting

    El Jefe Weightlifting is the North West Valley’s longest running USAW club. Our Weightlifting classes are held three days per week and El Jefe offers the most flexible Open Gym policy in AZ providing over 20 hours a week of time to get your training in.  Our facility features 12 platforms, Pendlay and Rogue barbells and weight, jerk and pulling blocks, and basically anything else you need to effectively train.

    For those brand new to the sport, we offer Building Jefes Strength classes to learn the movements in a beginner setting to build confidence and general strength. The best part of our program is our coaches.  With USAW coaches and advanced coaches on staff, accomplished competitors leading classes and programming, and a love for the sport of Weightlifting engrained in our community, El Jefe is a great place to develop as a Weightlifter.

  • El Jefe Powerlifting

    El Jefe Powerlifting is one of our flagship programs, established in 2014. Our Powerlifting program is designed to either supplement our athletes’ CrossFit or Strongman training or serve as the primary sport for those athletes interested in competing in Powerlifting. Led by elite Powerlifting competitor Coach Blaine Daniels, the Powerlifters meet three days a week and train the squat, bench, and deadlift and all related accessory lifts.

     

    Our facility features deadlift and squat bars, iron weight, leg press, glute ham machines, power racks, benches, and everything else you need to train effectively. For those brand new to the sport, we offer Building Jefes Strength classes to learn the movements in a beginner setting to build confidence and general strength before jumping in with the all levels class. We offer programming for competitors as well as basic training programs for those looking to simply make training gains.

  • El Jefe Strongman

    The sport of Strongman has exploded at El Jefe.  In no other facility in the North West Valley will you find a wider range of implements, a bigger more passionate community, and a coach and program of El Jefe’s caliber.

     

    The Strongman program runs three days a week and our generous Open Gym makes it easy to add in your own supplemental training to become the best Strongman athlete you can be. The program includes competition prep as well as general training. Equipment on hand includes tires and stones, logs, a frame, farmer and duck walk handles, kegs, and soon a stone table.

     

    For beginners the Building Jefes Strength class is available to review the Strongman movements and build general strength and confidence. People of all shapes, sizes, and abilities use our Strongman program as a supplement to their CrossFit training or as their primary training. Either way, El Jefe Strongman is for everyone.

  • Vamonos & Row Hoes

    Although CrossFit is known for its short intense workouts, we all know that endurance is key to killing it in WOD’s. That’s why we offer two specialty course, Vamonos and Row Hoes.  Vamonos is offered twice a week and is designed to bring out the endurance athlete in all of us.

     

    Become a stronger runner, learn to pace your workouts, and build a bigger engine with the help our of USA Track & Field coach. People who HATE RUNNING always end of LOVING Vamonos. Row Hoes is a rowing technique class focused on learning how to properly row, pace, and to help athletes know their split times so they can better use the Concept 2 in WOD’s.

     

    Row Hoes is offered once a week and coupled with Vamonos will serve to increase any athlete’s endurance and ability to manage longer, higher volume workouts.

  • Mimosas & Mobility Yoga

    Life always requires balance!  We work hard and need to be sure we are taking care of ALL our bodies’ needs.  Mimosas & Mobility, our extremely fun and challenging twice-weekly yoga practice satisfies just that.  Certified yoga coach, Crystal Scott, leads our athletes through a practice that frees the mind and loosens the body. Oh and sometimes there are mimosas!

    Boss Nutrition offers our athletes the ability to eat the foods they love while obtaining the strength and aesthetic goals they’ve been working towards.  With experienced flexible dieting coaches and a registered dietician on our staff, people with various nutrition needs can be helped through our programs. Boss Nutrition includes macro coaching, meal planning, body fat testing, and varying program options to suit your needs and budget.

    Physical Therapy, Massage Therapy & Square1

    We athletes train hard and taking care of our bodies is imperative to our ability to reach our potential.  Sometimes those old injuries flare up, sometimes new one arise taking us away from our training.  If something is holding you back, it’s time to visit El Jefe.  El Jefe is home to two Doctors of Physical Therapy, a Licensed Athletic Trainer/Massage Therapist, and a certified Square1 Therapist.  Get their expert opinion and get better while maintaining your workouts!

     

    Personal & Group Training

    Sometimes working out in classes just isn’t your thing.  That’s why El Jefe offers a host of personal training and group training services.  Whether you want to get stronger, leaner, faster, or train for a specific event, our trainers can help you and our prices are affordable.     Childcare

    El Jefe offers supervised care for your kiddos 6 days per week.  The Hooligan House is clean, air conditioned, full of safe toys and Netflix.  Enjoy your workouts in piece while your kids have fun in the Hooligan House! Rate are extremely affordable, contact us for more info.
